Professor Hunger

Hunger, the actual physical sensation of, is a extraordinary teacher.

Do not confuse hunger with imaginary hunger or the mind’s fretting obsessions. To imagine being without is not to be without. You can sure waste a lot of time crying about it, though.

Hunger teaches you what is important and what is possible.

Survival is important. It is also possible, but requires effort. Hunger is not voluntary, in the sense that a fast will not teach you what an emptiness you are creatively trying to fix will.

In the coming season, remember hunger.

Let hunger teach you.
